Disabled But Standing High..

Some people are born lucky and some are not. There are times I wished that I was able to help the unfortunate people such as the disabled. If you have an average financial, there are still other way of helping them.

I've been supporting a company owned by the members of the organisation of Mouth & Foot Painting Artists (MFPA) for the past 2 years. A very minimum support but sincerely comes from the heart.

MFPA was organised in 1956 and all their members are disabled. However, they have learned to draw and write using their foot or mouth. I respected them as being a disabled, life can be very difficult. Some 'normal' people thought they cannot do anything or even useless. By learning to draw, they managed to have a source of income without having to beg or wait for donations. MFPA offers artworks produced as Calendar, Cards, Bookmarks and other items. MFPA mailed their products to non-specific addresses; means that anybody may received their mails. Then, it's up to you either to buy and pay or return back to them. Honesty plays a main role too! You may also add your orders or buy other items if you wished too.

Some of the artists are Siti Aishah, Ng Ah Kwai, Ismail Rakib, Kam Wai and Chong Keow. They were born without hands. However, Kam Wai was born with palsy cerebrum since small and his hands are paralysed.

Traditional Chinese Herbs

After almost seven months, my thyroid is almost at the normal level, but still swollen. I'm a bit worried, because this time..it took a longer time to reduce the swollen. Another new experience is the feeling of a chunk of food stuck in my throat. My thyroid must be pushing my trachea.

I dislike the two main option of getting rid of the swollen, which might or will effected my hormones and etc. The doctor proposed to me a radiation treatment or going under the knife. Both have pros and cons. I'm not ready to be medicated for my whole life after surgery and not even ready to have health problems after radiation treatment.

So, I've decide to try alternative medication. I went to visit a chiropractic specialist in USJ, Selangor whom we have known for few years. We've tried their Chinese body massage (by his wife for ladies), acupuncture and reflexology. I'm satisfied with the result especially the acupuncture technique (for different sickness, not thyroid).

As for my thyroid, he massaged my back bone, neck and arms. A little twist here and there..with lots of 'cracking' sound of my bones, especially the neck. For some, that's the best part. And alternatively, he proposed to me Chinese medicinal herbs. Without hesitation, I followed his advise.

This is the packet of herbs (that I can't even recognised any of the plants except for pine cones). These herbs need to be boiled with six cup of water. Boiled them with small fire, the darker the colour, the better!

But wait...the most special ingredients are.......

Yes, SEAHORSES. They are expensive, MYR 12.00 for a pair of each species. Stigmatopora argus (Spotted Pipefish) is the elongated body. They are lovely sea creatures...don't you agree?

"Seahorse populations are thought to have been endangered in recent years by overfishing and habitat destruction. The seahorse is used in traditional Chinese herbology, and as many as 20 million seahorses may be caught each year and sold for this purpose. Medicinal seahorses are not readily bred in captivity as they are susceptible to disease and have somewhat different energetics than aquarium seahorses." - Wikipedia

After boiling them altogether, this is the water I need to drink....

Black, smelly medicinal herbs drink. This is about 600ml. I've drank it but only less than half-cup per day. It tasted horrible and indescribable! You might even throw-up as the water almost entering your throat. The trick, of course stop breathing and swallow as fast as possible. Gargle immediately and chew strong flavour sweets!

Last but least, the boiled seahorse and dried again. I've planned to keep it as you don't buy seahorses for fun, or have them as a pet. They are sensitive sea creatures and beautiful to see.

So, anyone care for a Chinese medicinal herbs?

And superb looking from the INSIDE!!..I don't feel secure when doing my 'business' in this toilet eventhough people from the outside can't see you....but it's still an awesome design....classy and simple.

And this is even scarier...you are about to enter the toilet and you see this kind of flooring..definitely you'll get a good laugh!

How about this one...you are smoking at the lounge, and you felt like somebody is watching you from the ceiling....yup, a reminder to the smokers!! So why not quit smoking?

Bowling....

It has been quite sometime I didn't come out with any drawing. Believe me, when it comes to draw..you really need inspiration and mood (well, I'm talking about myself) and I'm not in the best mood. I was trying to get more connection and visitors for my other 2 blogs via social networking especially from Blog Catalog (of course!)..might do it more for the next few weeks. For the time being, I'll update this blog with anything that might interest you and also what's running in and out of my life.

As you might know, me and hubby love bowling and we bowled every week. I'm just an average player and played inconsistent games..I've always changed my style, rhythm and stand position. When was asked why...I said I want to explore and search for the best style (...but for the past few months, I have no improvement).

I've been using my hubby's new bowling ball. You can say that we traded with each other. He took back his ball which I've been used (the Zone ball posted earlier) and I'm using his new Hammer ball. He said, the ball didn't suited him well and was not drilled accordingly to his spinner style. So, we sent the ball to suit my fingers and tried it and simply love the 'hooking' of the ball.

I think my game is going to improve by using this ball! (wish me luck!). These are the photos of the ball. It is only used for about 1 year..but, there was a long and deep scratch on the ball (I've dotted the scratch) when it jammed and rolled in the gutter at the end of the lane. We hate it when it happened..

My hubby likes to participate in the tournament (at any bowling alleys). He's trying his luck and made friends with other bowlers too. I encourage him as well because I can see he's a good bowler. He wasn't lucky enough in the previous tournaments (but still won, at least he got free games). His best winning was in 9 pin Double; their team got second place.

And I cannot believe his luck last Tuesday...he took part in 3 games 9Pin tournament opened only for the bowling members. It was so nerved wrecking because he really wanted to win. He did well in the first 2 games, but dropped at the 3rd game. I convinced him to cool down and relaxed (he's a little tensed at that moment).

And he's back on board.....I've made a guessed by stating that he might be in the top 10..but as the result came out...taaadaaaaa......He's.......#1!!....it's the best moment and he got extra money for this week :D

As for my hubby, it boost his confidence and can't wait to participate in more, and more tournament.

To my hubby : Good luck....and I'll always be watching you closely...behind the lane :D

He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:

(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.

(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.

(3 ) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

This is my experiment of drawing a pet..yes, this cat used to be in my family 8-9 years ago..and he has no name :(

My brother picked him from a wet market probably when he was a 'teenager'..the fur was orange and white. He's clean, beautiful but skinny though lived in the wet market. And got along very well with us. We enjoyed playing with him as he's very active and playful..kept on running around inside and out of the house..bites our feet and hands..

Until one day, when we had moved to a new apartment..I sensed that he felt uneasy about moving out to a new home and he acted a bit 'crazy'..kept on sniffed and looked in and out. I saw few dominant stray male cats around the area and might get him into trouble.

Few nights was OK for him. I let him slept in my room. However he started wanting to go out at night (perhaps looking for the opposite gender?)..Let him go for 'hunting' for 2 or 3 days consecutively and he did came home..Then came the day when he never returned home after a nite-out. We searched for him for a few days, but he was never came home..That moment, I've wished that if he'd lost, he'll find a good new owner..but never ever crushed by cars or dead bitten by stray dogs/cats..

..He had lived with us for less than a year..but the joy and fun that he gave was the best of all..

Mistaken by The NAMES..

Back to 3-4 weeks ago..i was so excited to met one of my favourite used-to-be Malaysian badminton player..Surprised to meet him at the bowling alley; NO..he's not playing bowling to represent Malaysia, instead (or maybe) he's one of the cafe owner's friend at the bowling alley (not sure if he's shares the business). After seeing him there a few times, I'm very sure he is MR. FOO KOK KEONG (FKK) and convinced my husband he is FKK..the very famous FKK..

One fortunate night, he was at the cashier at the cafe's counter and coincidentally i was going to buy something. With all my guts and confidence..i asked him...

"Are you MR. FOO KOK KEONG?"..he replied.."NO, I'm ONG EWE HOCK"..."Hahahahahhaha."..that's me, laughed out loud for being embarrassed and mistaken by the name!!..it took about 2 minutes to realise and recall ONG EWE HOCK (OEH)..yup..got the wrong name! But knew he was once the 2ND Top Shuttler of the world in the 1990's..Well, he's not really interested to talk, so i just smiled (i have few questions to ask!!). Off i go with my drink, waffles and 'BIG JOKER SMILES' towards my husband..

Mr. OEH looks cute..below is he's photo..in fact I've drawn his portrait back in 1994, but I've drawn awfully awful and did not post it in this blog earlier (never wanted to publish this drawing..actually)

He's quite small in size..probably 170cm tall..but still physically fit, and still have the same hairstyle! Mr. Foo Kok Keong is the guy below..

Both of them were Malaysian best single players at their time. They make the Malaysian proud for their spirit and determination to be a winner..Back in the 90's, Malaysian players emerged to be one of the best in world top ranking..CONSISTENTLY; nowadays..it's a bit difficult, and I'm not the right person to give comments (i played badminton for fun and exercise!!)..Mr. OEH is consistently seen at the bowling alley every night i go for bowling, so i might asked him questions if he's at the cashier!! Don't care if he remembered me as "someone who got his name wrong"!...BEWARE ;)...I'm on a mission!

The above photo was somewhere in Malaysia (National Stadium, K.L..i guess) in 90's when Malaysia won the Thomas Cup..Only recall Cheah Soon Kit's name (1st from left), as for the others, their faces still fresh in my mind...

I was reading a local newspaper this morning..read an interesting subject about the environment, specifically about WASTE MANAGEMENT. So, i thought it would be a good subject to post in my blog..

I've some interesting facts from the paper...and it's really unbelievable. I never knew about this and those who knew..you're such a good earthlings! This info is about the waste decomposition rate of certain items..

The fact that Kuala Lumpur produces 3,000 to 3,500 tonnes of domestic and industrial waste per day is expected. More and more people living in the city. The garbage rots in the landfills and produces a toxic goey substance called leachate.

Leachate is the liquid that drains or 'leaches' from a landfill; it varies widely in composition regarding the age of the landfill and the type of waste that it contains. It can usually contain both dissolved and suspended material - source; Wikipedia

If you look closely, leachate is the orangy colour appeared at the edge of the water.

For every 3,500 tonnes of rubbish, 525,000 litres of leachate produced. The leachate move either above and below the ground, into reservoirs and rivers. And of course they will contaminate our natural resources.

As we all knew, waste management starts at home..yes..i, myself tried to reduce my household's garbage and trying very hard on the 3R concept (reduce, reuse, recycle), but..not 100% working for me at the moment (luckily just the 3 of us in the house, it helps a lot!). Though we have the awareness, but our (i mean Malaysian) civic conscious is still low, thus..littering still occurred. Changing of attitude definitely is the problem. But does education will work? Hopefully more and more people support this effort and you don't need a certificate or degree to do that.

(After reading these, i was wondering are there any new solutions of replacing 'items' that takes million of years to decompose..which also should be convenience and easy to the users as well?)

These are some of the common approaches to reduce waste :
i) Segregate waste in order to reduce waste disposal at the landfill (not just separating glass, metal, plastic, etc but also draining out liquids form waste before placing into bins)

ii) Implement the 3R Concept (reduce, reuse, recycle)

iii) Buy goods that use less packaging ad reduce consumption of goods and services

iv) Use containers and jars to replace polystyrene containers when take-away (or 'tapau' as Malaysian knows) your food

v) Place a plastic into your bins before throwing waste

....So why don't the government ban the usage of polystyrene food containers? They are the most hazardous and famously used in Malaysia. Even worse, we knew its hazardous but we still and keep on using them. Weird facts!

I blame myself as well..I've never implemented the method of taking your own food containers when 'tapau' my foods at the restaurants. It's not that convenience and very awkward especially in Malaysian culture. Culture...yes, that's the word. So, if the Malaysian culture is too difficult to change, i think i should change my own culture, one change does count! So, for a starter..maybe i might bring my own food containers when buying rice gravies at the restaurants nearby my house!

End of Birds of Malaysia series

This is the last part of my 'Birds Series'..

This is Black-naped Monarch (cool name!)..They have wonderful azure-blue feathers (the males) and resident of the lowlands of Borneo, commonly in the shrubs and forests, up to 4265 feet. The birds tend to be found in the medium or lower canopy but the nests can be close to the ground.

A tiny bird with about 6 inches or 15 centimetres in size, it is long-tailed and slender. Feed on insects including crickets, butterflies and moths, mostly by gleaning from foliages and also by snatching from mid-air.

While these birds below are the image of birds i've drawn in the 1st part of the series. They are Hornbill and Short-tailed Magpie respectively. Don't you think the Hornbill is majestic? They are one of the kind, such a unique bird. The Short-tailed Magpie is also beautiful with vibrant feathers..

Birds of Malaysia (Pt. 2)

This is my drawing of a Crimson Sunbird..it has bright red colour on top, can be seen all over South-east Asia (S.E.A). You can see this bird most likely in the forest edges and cultivation area. They feed on nectar and such a petite, beautiful bird..I've also included the real image of it so that you can see the vibrant colours of the bird..Love the colour on its forehead!

Birds of Malaysia

Still have difficulty in searching human subject, so...i have selected birds as my subjects for the next few posts (though i'm not a birds' fan)...these birds can be found in Sabah, Malaysia and S.E.A.

Drawing animals are not too hard compared to drawing human faces. Both drawings only took me around 30-45 mins to complete.. (i think i need to improve my rendering of the background..it looks plain and empty!)

This is a Rhinoceros Hornbill. ..can be found from lowlands to an altitude of 1300m, a very majestic bird especially their casque with reddish orange colour with a yellow tip..Their bill is yellow. The Hornbill is a major inspiration in designing the Bornean art and costumes. They have black and white abdomen and a wide black band crossing the tail. So, if you're travelling to Sabah, make sure to see the real Hornbill...They are beautiful!!

This is a cute bird called Short-tailed Magpie..It dwells in thick vegetation in the mid and upper-storey of the forests and only making short flights. They feed on bees, beetles and dragonflies. They're shy and difficult to approach..Their beaks are red colour while the abdomen is light green and 'wearing' black mask on the eyes. The wings are in red and have black with little of white on the tail.

I'm still searching for good subjects to draw..And this blog is already 2 mths-old!...I really appreciate and thankful to the visitors and readers..Hopefully the number of visitors will keep on climbing. Feeling guilty as there are no new drawings at the moment :) so i'm making this post as a compilation 'cos i know some of us dislike to browse the ARCHIVES...

All the drawings has been published in this blog...Some of my best and favourite collection for the past 15 years++...Hope you'll enjoy..

Another Step By Step..

Ok..as i promised, this is another step by step of drawing (my style!)..this time around..It's a tiger resting in the jungle..It's a simple one with a bit of body parts..(i'm interested in drawing the facial)

First of course, draw the guidelines which includes circle for the face+head and a
line for the body. You may also want to draw some surrounding elements found in the picture of the tiger. Try to play with lines so that it looks proportion and logical.

Next, what i did was putting few lines to indicate areas for eyes, nose and mouth. Then you can visualised the face by adding ears. Sometimes, i'd like to draw secondary elements before the overall face. At this point, i started to draw the stripes. The stripes wasn't 100% exactly as on the picture. So not to worry..

Later, i draw the nose, eyes and did some rendering..(to make me feel that this drawing is going to be nice)..

I will focused on the facial expression and tried to render as good as possible..Also rendering the stripes! This photo of a tiger doesn't have much shadow to play with, so i did only mild rendering.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO ERASE YOUR GUIDELINES BEFORE STARTING YOUR "HEAVY" RENDERING!

This is the tiger's face..the image is a bit blurry (sorry!)..I will continue my rendering until i'm satisfied..

To me, the face wasn't intense enough and i didn't draw the best i could..and again, sorry for the blurry images!!

Finally, the end product..The body is a little short than it should..so if you analyse my drawing, the proportion is not good due to shorter body length. Maybe you can learn from my mistakes!!

EXPERIMENT...Acrylic

Now...i'm going stop on the LOVE issues for a while..This is an experiment, using ACRYLIC as medium on a common 'bigger-than-A1' canvas..At first, i have no idea on what to draw. I'd like to draw something graphic. And after searching for some images on the net, i've truly interested to draw and paint fishes..with my own point of view..Drawing the fishes was not difficult as i've some guidance..but to make it some kind of graphic was a task.

Thought of hanging paintings in the living room. Did visited few shops and found out that those paintings are so EXPENSIVE!!..not worth our money :) or can say, not willing to pay for something that beyond our budget!!..After some thinking and consideration, i've decided to try to do it on my own. So, need to buy some materials.

Before i bought them, i did my own research on painting using acrylic..Luckily i've managed to get help from the Net. Looking for artshops wasn't difficult too..There are 2 shops providing all things i needed at Taman Melawati. I've selected acrylic brands which were not too expensive; Maries (made in China ) and Alpha (S.Korean made). They are not bad and good enough for amateur, like me! Only few colours were selected. As a painter, you need to visualised the painting from ZERO to HERO (so you don't have to waste your money buying colours you won't need)..So i've imagined my fishes swimming in the blue water and create ripples..and it took me about 1 mth to visualise the overall painting!!

I've used lots of blue and titanium white..i've only used the dark colours a few drops. The brushes, as you can see..i've chose variety sizes, from the smallest to the 'just nice' big..cheapest to the 'ok-ok' price..

The smaller brushes are important especially when colouring the details and smaller parts. It also created nice motions and strokes to my painting. The colouring (believe it!) took me about 3 mths to complete! I was enjoying my experiment so much that there were...MAYBE 5 layers of white + blue colours. The fishes were also more than 2 layers! I've finally stopped after getting tired and sick of touching-up..

Another important element is your decision on the final touch. Glossy? Au Naturel?..i wanted the glossy effect so i've used LIQUITEX GLOSS VARNISH..i was completely confused at this moment and disliked the 'not-so' glossy effect after putting a layer of the medium. Yes, i've layered it probably 4 times!!..i've stopped cos it didn't make any diference and afraid the painting going to be horrible.

So..finally, i think it's time to hang the painting..i am so proud of myself, worth my effort. My first ever trial was a success!..tried to create some textures using acrylics, and it wasn't bad..Here's the painting, 4 'weird-coloured' Koi happily creating lot of ripples..what do you think? Until today, i didn't make any effort to paint anything... :)..but i do want to paint again..

Sorry for leaving my blog without any new posting for a week..i don't really know why, as i actually have something to post in my blog..

I'm doing this as a favour for my sister in-law, whom still feeling down due to her broken heart..

Aaaa..YES...LOVE is wonderful, fun, exciting, funny, whatever not..So what do i know about love?..not much, i'm no LOVE GURU..but i've learned from experience..bitter and sweet. There were times your heart's melted, then crushed, then soften, and then hardened...Everyone have their ups and downs..You'll learned along the way.

To My Dear Sister..

By this time you should start forgetting him (it's been a week). It may takes time, but DO IT NOW..he had LEFT you for someone else. It's not worth it trying to win him back..I'm very sure nobody wants to be the 2ND. CHOICE..I'm very sure he's a womaniser too (you've already detected it)..and YES i understand that you're lonely, you feels that you need him..(look around, just look over your shoulder..you are not on your own)

You told me that you're still in touch with him, and i do told you to continue that..but after some thinking and watching you (yesterday)..I think you shouldn't see him (to settle this problem) or have any connection with him..Stop it ASAP..change your number, delete his number. The longer you decided not to delete and erase it..people behind your back are wasting their saliva, thoughts..

SORRY, it will hurt your feelings but pls remember this is also a MOTIVATION so that you keep up with your life..

A Malays' idiom of "BERTEPUK SEBELAH TANGAN" (clapping with one hand only) which i can translate as YOU LIKE SOMEONE, BUT HE OR SHE DOESN'T LIKE YOU..that's a terrible scenario in love!! If he didn't love or care or like you anymore, there will be NO LOVE, NO CARING, NO LIKING for you..It's even worse if he had already find someone else!

Don't waste your time chasing him. START accepting the fact and...START writing something else in your blog..SLOWLY STOP expressing your sadness (i'm very sure he'll visit your blog, but doesn't mean he'll feel totally guilty and come running back!)..GO HAVE FUN as you've mentioned. DON'T SHOW you desperation, none of the family are pushing you to get married ASAP (you're lucky..)

IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT..DON'T BLAME yourself for not having the time for him, etc..Your time, you decide. Put the GRUDGE away, put a SMILEY face you've always had.

Hopefully..I'll see your happy face this week..

Like it or not, i'm typing these with honesty and care..All of us care. You're a lucky girl, a lot of people wiling to give you a shoulder to cry on..Appreciate them by showing that you can CHANGE..and FACE THE FACT..

YES...Take your time, but i believed that you need to show more happy faces (though your heart is not)..Remember, a broken heart is curable if you let it heal by open-up to others...BUT NOT TO HIM :)

I'm feeling deeply sad, for my sister in law..wishing her the best to cope with her sadness..trust me, you'll find someone even better later on..he's no, no good for you..(unless you've decided to get back together and paste back everything..and forget what had happened)

If i were in her shoes, i'll cry all day/nite long...it's not easy to built trust and love to someone..but i guess she's lucky as her relationship was not that long. The longer the love you have together, the harder it is when it ended..but, whether it's long or short period, it may takes about 1 year+ to start all over again...(my experience + 'surveys' ;D)

Everybody have their own experiences in LOVE and being DUMPED...whatever it is, it is an EXPERIMENT of LIFE...you'll learn the lesson of love, and hopefully not repeating the mistakes..

It wasn't easy to find your SOULMATE...you'll have to give the trust, compassion, affection, etc along the way..oh, the bumps and bruises too (even after you've found your soulmate!..bruises in the heart, not on your face, etc)

Believe it or not, sometimes you might give your love to the wrong person, and it's ok..knocking on a person's heart takes a courage. If there's no love, there'll be NO LOVE even how beautiful or attractive you are. IT'S TRUE, LOVE IS BLIND...

BUT just wait..somebody might come knocking on your heart again and give you the opportunity to be LOVED again...and even PASTE your heart! So try to open your heart immediately..

Forget about him (if you can)...sooner or later you'll see how much time and money wasted for someone you don't need at all and you'll never regret for what has happened..

My World of Bowling...

Yesterday nite, was my 2nd time entering a Bowling Tournament (the 1st i've participated was 8 years ago)..it was organized by my favourite spot to bowl. The tournament was a Mixed Double, so my husband convinced me to test my luck..and my skill.. :D

Luckily, it was 8 Pin tap of 3 games..so..i think it's not so dificult ;) ...yup, i was right..i've scored 220+ in the 1st game, it was awesome as you get very high-spirited, excited by watching other players got their strikes..we tried our best..

Few days back, i have problem with my bowling ball..my thumbhole seems to be smaller (???)..hahaha..actually, my thumb was swollen due to small thumbhole!! so, did get it adjusted 2 days before the tournament..at home, i took this seriously, tried to keep my mental strong. i have low self-esteem (sometimes..), so what i did was to be as confident as i could and kept telling myself that i'm good...

And during the tournament, i was really 'pumping iron', my targets were GREAT!..i used to play HOOK style, but lately..it's too difficult for me to throw hook style..as i analysed, the rolling of my ball was more of a SPINNER style. Even the owner of the Bowling Proshop thought, i was a spinner (good! another style to learn)..so, that nite i played as a spinner and did good..unfortunately, i'm sucks in taking spares!!..believe it or not, when taking spares, my hand automatically shifted to HOOK MODE..so there goes the spares..WASTED!!

My 2nd game was yuckie!..i scored only 120+!!..but husband played all games consistently. he supported me and advised me to relax..as for the 3r game, i'm happy..i did better, with 261..i got 8 strikes consecutively..miss a spare and 3 strikes again..for the overall result, we were in the 12th place. that's fine with us 'cos there were about 40 teams took part..the other teams were very good, we considered ourself very lucky to be in the Top 15..

So..in the future, we are planning to participate in any tournaments available with our time...so..keep on focusing...and mentally strong...!! oh..here's a photo of my ball, i've used it for as long as i've remembered (used to be my hubby's)..and LOVING it!

Step By Step..(my style)

haaah..finally i managed to DRAW something today..well, i've drawn animals and i love to have them as a pet!!!...only if they are tame.. :)beautiful, fierce yet you can feel the serenity in their face..). it's not too

this is my 'STEP BY STEP' of drawing the face of a snow leopard (they are so difficult.. :)

FIRST, of course, draw a circle for the overall face and head..then you added the ears so that you can see the proportion..if it's good, continue by drawing the nose lines. before that, you must draw straight lines for the eyes, nose and mouth as guidelines (the lines need to be divided equally, it's crucial)

to me, the nose lines marked the position of the nose, then only you are able to position/draw the eyes. to make sure that the eyes looks real, you need to see 'details'. Cats' eyes are not too difficult to draw..understand the main features then you can draw them easily (look at the 'sharp' end, circle eyes)..
if the eyes looks ok, you may add details on the face such as leopard spots and yes..shading and rendering.

at this point, you can see that the drawing is much defined. you might need to erase the guidelines before you want to continue on rendering..keep on touching-up until you are satisfied with the end product..

There you go...my STEP BY STEP of drawing. it took less than 45 mins to complete (it's a small scale too)..my next posting is also going to be another step by step guide on drawing an animal..

World of Badminton...

YIKES!!! sorry..until today, i have no ideas on what to draw...this is horrible..plus..need to buy more drawing papers...i'm a bit clueless, i thought of drawing some animals but haven't found any nice pics..

so today, i just want to give my opinion on badminton..i love to play badminton. i,ve stopped playing for 3 weeks due to my thyroid. just started playing again, my heartbeats are good..so happy and tried to gain my skills again :) a little muscle pain on the arm..(oh, btw i'm a lefty!!)..

to badminton lovers, the Super Series in Birmingham just ended, only 1 malaysian represent in the finals (Lee Chong Wei, #1 in the world), and..all China players managed to get to the finals..amazing!! and all of them WON!!..AMAZING!!
the chinese really gave spectacular games..they are quick, sharp and have strong mental. so, you can see fast games. enjoyed watching all games..

so frustrated Chong Wei didn't won, he did give a fight and almost..yup, almost won. but, Lin Dan was a better player. he didn't played like when he vs Chong Wei in the Olympic '08..if you've watched the singles final, you know what i mean..Lin Dan didn't give any opportunity to Chong Wei..Chong Wei gave his best but guess he didn't expect very strong and very high-spirited Lin Dan (Chong Wei, i know you can do better than this..)

overall, China is likely to conquer this year. i'm surprised that Indonesian players wasn't in the finals..surprised Tine Rasmussen (Denmark) got to the finals too!..she's good at the net..thought she could 'killed' the chinese domination :)
i'm also waiting to see the rise of the European players. it seems like Asian are dominating the game. more continents more variety!!

so..you didn't see my blog's template change today..well, decided not to change at the moment. i think my current template is beautiful. love the graphic, colours..i did searched for other templates, but at the end of the day i decided to keep it :)
unfortunately, i don't know how to use/edit those Home, RSS, etc..anybody can help??

i edited some of the font sizes and colours..(after a few of trial & error!)..i'm happy that at least i do understand on how to edit simple stuff. i've already downloded some of nice templates for my future usage..so why don't you just go to Deluxe Templates and get your new blog's face, you won't get into problem downloading and installing their templates..

anyway, i'd like to apologise to my visitors for the inconvenience as the images are topsy-turvy!..will try my best to edit ASAP...

i've just changed my blog template (free one..thx to deluxetemplate.blogspot.com), you can find lots nice, beautiful templates, so check them out...satisfied but seems like the images i've uploaded are not in good arrangement..i'm very sure i'm going to change to new template again within today!...(maybe should look for other template that is easy for 'illiterate' I.T person like me...)...yup...so wait for new template (again!) on my blog..i love changing the look on my blog. it's good experience of trial & error for illiterate blogger (that's me)... :)

This posting also showcasing photos from indonesia..taken from another botanical garden..
the collection of white men photos, probably the people whom have been behind (or played major role) in collecting the unique plants..

as you can see (the collection are rare), the coconut of some palm tree (it's Lodoicea maldivica, Arecaceae family)species is obviously...OBSCENE!!..but it depends on your imagination ;) other than obscene (to me), it is amazing, creation of God for us to see and think..

3rd photo is a tree house!! one classy tree house..but actually it's a rest house. might get different perspective if you stand up there..how exciting!

as long as the management managed to maintain the elements in the garden, our next generation shall have no problem to appreciate them...well wishes to those "behind the curtains"

itchiness on my hands seems to subside a bid...but it gets itchier on my legs..hmmmm..still wondering when to go to see the doctor

today i'm going to show more photos taken in indonesia by my husband..the location was various, so..have a look..they might get you interested in nature, landscaping or even architecture. if i have lots, lots, and lots of money.. i love to travel around the world, just to explore the culture, food, architecture & landscape! even the country next to your country have different set of landscaping, architecture ideas. these diversity create wonderful sight of the cities..but i really wanted to go to TAJ MAHAL, AGRA, BOROBUDUR..and don't mind going to FORBIDDEN CITY (again)...
oh, i love historical buildings!! as for my country, i admire the Moghul architecture of the RAILWAY STATION, K.L..so as the kampung@village houses you can find in Perak, N.S, Terengganu, Penang and Kedah...they've created a design that you cannot find other than the mentioned places.

talking about these photos, it was taken at Kebun Raya Bogor, a botanical garden with cool collection of indigenous plants..while the photo with some people sitting was at a restaurant. it was constructed with bamboos..there are lots of photos taken at the restaurant, unfortunately, they are not in good quality..but i think eating at a 'bamboo made' restaurant is kinda cool and relaxing

you might ask.."why only asian countries?"..well, as you can see, i knew more about Asian countries, don't get me wrong, i do want to go other continents..i dreamed of riding a boat to EASTER Island, visit STONEHENGE, play bagpipes in SCOTLAND, chill on the beach in Maui, climb the mountain to see MACHU PICCHU, drink a cup of coffee nearby EIFFEL Tower, ride a roller coaster in GOLD Coast and cruising in the world richest city..MOSCOW..(i wish...)

Oh my...i'm so 'sick' fo the past few days..with no concrete reasons, i started to have itches at my hands, legs, etc..(stop typing just now to scratch!)..haven't go to see doc...not ready yet (????), hoping that it'll gone by the next day..the itches come inconsistently, it comes and goes whenever it like..when it's time to sleep, they'll come and i couldn't sleep peacefully. i keep on scratching until it subside..then only i'll get to sleep..the itchyness don't have any 'whatever sign of disease'..asked my friends (but guess nobody knows...)..but i'm really, really hoping that it doesn't relate to food allergies!!..i cannot stop myself from eating certain foods!! :(
think i'll go to see the doctor within few days..cannot stand the itchness anymore...(keep on scratching while posting this!)

returning from johor was not really tiring..love the journey to my university..but the weather was not good..it's raining cats & dogs..however, glad to be back home and....relax!
i've uploaded drawings that didn't work out well...hate it but have to admit my weaknesses. i think that i need a good mood, feeling good before starting to draw..i wasn't really want to draw that day, but i forced myself..and you can see the result...it's really bad, especially when i am trying to draw celebs image!
the bald girl is my 'trying-so-hard' drawing of Natalie Portman from "V for Vendetta". the shades in the picture, good enough but i can't seem to link to the picture. so..yikes!!too awful to handle! weird!..hate it..doesn't even look like her! :(

while the 2nd drawing is 'so-so-hard' drawing of Joaquim Phoenix (did i spell correctly?)..i thought his face was easy as he has lots of wrinkles! :D but no...it's not easy..i think my drawing is not masculine enough compared to the reality of mr. phoenix! my overall mistake was the shape of his head...i did smaller/slimmer head. from that point, i can't adjust my drawing to make it exactly as mr. phoenix..he looked like..james dean? hah!my imagination, the eyes are fooling the brain

By today...didn't draw anything...a lot of errands to do for the past few days...it's Saturday and not able to relax (being a hwife of course i need to entertain hubby,kid), or concentrate to draw...besides, will be going to Johor early morning Sunday (really early!)
So, i'll try my best to come up with some drawings on monday (hopefully!)..but, i can't find good subjects too!..some analysing needed when i want to draw... :)

However, i've added photos of beautiful landscape/nature in Indonesia (Puncak & Cibodas)..i simply admire the typical Indonesian 'entrance' way. they are majestic and artistic (you may find them in Bali too). my hubby had the opportunity to go there (without me!)..and i was hoping that i will go there soon..yay!
This next photo is a plant, family of fern, love the texture of the leaves...Indonesia have great variety of plant species, quite different from Malaysia in fact. so, basically the visits was to see how the Indonesian preserved and collect their rare species. Nature lovers, you gonna digg this!

Ok..my hubby went away to Indonesia for working trip. To fill my time, went to my mother's house so that my daughter is happy and have lots of thing to do..i brought along my drawing blocks and stuffs..
So happy with the result. My daughter did disturbed me, but managed to keep focused...yayyy!!
The lady is the drawing of Kate Beckinsale (what do u think?), or maybe Kate's lookalike? :D while the guy wearing glasses is someone i've never heard of, Baby Blue from Pretty Ricky (???)

To draw someone wearing glasses is the so easy (no eyes!). Eyes are so difficult!! so as the nose!!..But i'm happy with Kate :)...she looks gorgeous (although not 100% looks like her)..and that Baby Blue..looks cool and handsome! I'm trying to improve my lines by using ladies as the subject..but looking at Kate, the lines looks ok on her face..

yikes..did some drawing..but the outcome was..ouchh..NOT NICE!..btw, i was constantly disturbed by my daughter..so, cannot focused on drawing..the below drawing is someone we know, a model/actor but will not revealed his name :D if you can guess his name correctly, you are verrrryyyy good in understanding a drawing..(laugh)..if i detected or realised that the drawing is not going to be good, i simply stop on touching-up the face, instead i focused on rendering and give it more texture using lines/shading...but as you can see below, rendering/shading cannot help the drawing looks better!

after feeling frustrated, i did another drawing, a kungfu fighter in a pose :D again, he's a chinese, famous actor...as i analysed it, i made my own conclusion..it's even worst..the face was blank, no what so ever emotion. so i focused on rendering/shading. still no improvement......then, i've lost in translation :( aaarrrggghhh...got it, just stop drawing today... :)

Late Sister...

Thank you for visiting my blog. Also thanks to lunaticg for the well-wishes..
today i'm posting a drawing of my late sister whom passed away when she's 9, i'm 7..in 1983..she has been suffering from a sickness that i do not have the couraged to ask my mother.

all i remembered was her tummy bloated (tumour maybe), skinny and she got bald..she always slept on one of the sofa and requested me to rub her hands (do not know why)..think she felt comfortable and away from the pain.

she have been in surgery, twice. we thought the 2nd surgery was successful and got rid of the tumour..but no, it came back..i've never asked my parents about the sickness, or anything related to her back then..don't know why..as i grow older, i regretted that i never wanted to know about her 'pain'. to say that i'm too young?...not acceptable..i should have try to understand the pain..

in the noon, on friday (july, just few days before my bday) 1983, just got back from school, i saw few cars at the house yard..as i reached the door, my aunts were crying..told me that Salwa (her nickname) passed away..again, i do not know the reason she passed away..heard from others that she slipped in the toilet and broke her neck. never confirmed that with my mother, not even until today. believe it or not, my parents are strong, esp my father. he kept his sadness from others. my mother, of course there's weeping..

i cried everytime i visited her grave in kampung, for all the reasons above. so sad i never got to know and see her grow up and have sisters' chat..LOVE? i do not know, we don't really know each other when we're kids. most memories with her wasn't clear enough, that i 've no confident to declare my love to Salwa..

May God Almighty have mercy on my late sister...and all the regret i have will be diminished..Amin

Thyroid..again..

My thyroid is back..i thought it won't come back..unfortunately, almost 3 years later, it came back to haunt me..
some people says, you have it in your genetic..it's true! my mother, my aunt, my cousin have thyroid too..but all cured..thank goodness it can be cured..

i dislike the symptoms.. ;( my symptoms are:

1)Shaky hands
2)fast heartbeat
3)weight lost
4)emotional
5)zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

My heartbeats really fast before i take medicine..so, the doctor told me that i should'nt play any sports at the moment..but i feel so weak if don't do anything active..i play badminton every week, so frustrated when just seating at the bench watching my friends have all the fun..
after taking some medicine (to slow down my heartbeat) i see the progress. it slows a bit..and i feel much relaxed. there are times that i felt my anxiety so high..because of this, i have sleepless night

I do some weight this morning. my weight has dropped alomost 4kg..i don't feel any different, actually..but my husband, friends, family sees the 'weight lost'..hope the lost stop A.S.A.P..

My blood result has come out today, the doctor phoned me and asked me to start eating 'camazol'..hopefully, my swollen neck will be normal in a few months..

oh thyroid..pls pls..go away.... ;) AMIN

This is a 30-40 mins drawing of my late grandmother (mother's side), Puan Aisah (me & siblings called her 'Tok') using common pencil..passed away in the morning of 7/6/04, a few hours after i gave birth to my daughter..

Very sad as i didn't get to meet her for the last time...a very gentle and wonderful woman, unfortunately didn't get to spend much time with her when i was younger..however, enjoyed every single seconds when 'balik kampung' or visit her at kampung and i remembered that Tok have good health. Tok didn't have any serious illness except for arthritis (i think..)..as she cannot walk, stand (body weight seemed to be the problem). Tok passed away peacefully at my aunt's house due to natural cause..all memories of Tok shall be in my heart forever..

May Tok rest peacefully in the mercy of God Almighty..Amin

TERRIBLE INTERNET CONNECTION

OH..ME ..OH..MY..
for the past 3 days...internet connection in my place..was HORRIBLE.
it keep on disconnect..looking at the transfer rate was even crazier..it goes up & own, up & down..(i cursed a lot!!)..at the moment (i'm typing), the line was disconnected..will try to reconnect until my post is published..

i'm unable to update my blog & also unable to connect to other bloggers..
to me..it's a BIG problem...

this post is the sign of my protest to HORRIBLE net connection..

a drawing of my daughter...she was born on 6/6/04...watching her growing is one of my greatest activity..she's a quick learner but there are times that she is so lazy to improve herself :)
however, i remind myself not to force her doing things that she do not like..but i do force her most of the time :D
ooh..i've also uploaded the photo of her...what do you think?any resemblance? she was 3 years old when the photo was taken
as i told before..quite hard for me to draw a drawing of someone i know..

These are some of my drawings did just 1-2 years ago...i think i've improved, just a little..
i'm quite weak in drawing the eyes, especially when it comes to draw EXACTLY as the subject. However, there are some drawings that i found i've managed to draw quite exactly..so..guess it depends on the subject and my detailing...
The subject of the 1st drawing in this post is my daughter & husband, while the 2nd was the singer of Audioslave that i've forgotten his name!...

as you can see, mainly my subjects are the male species....
WHY?
Because male tend to have more strong, 'tough' face features, as I love to play with shading, besides that my lines are quite rough..so, it make my drawings much better as more lines to play with..

The 2nd drawing is..I think the 'weakest' I've drawn..the lines are bad, no deep shading,etc....

I got time to upload more of my drawings today..also drawn in the 90's..1st drawing is my father with his mother (my late grandmom)..drawn from a classic photo..to me, didn't come out well..just ok..

My favourite is the drawing of Vanilla Ice. I think I did well in that drawing. While 'Jason Priestly'(do you think that Jason Priestly has too many rough lines?)

My selection of subjects usually an image which have good light and shadow, as i love to render the shadow. it gives strong appearance to the drawing.

However, i tried to draw not only human but also animals, as they potray strong features & emotions (look at my cheetahs)

MY DRAWINGS

Drawing is one of my interest since i'm a small kid. my friends used to tell me that i can draw beautiful drawings...well, i realised that :D...

But, i've never tried to explore my talent until came 1 day...in the year of 1991, i was really, really bored...and was focusing on my favourite rapper at that moment..Vanilla Ice...yup..that "Ice Ice Baby" guy... :)

Grabbed my pencil, eraser and drawing paper and start to draw...it took around 3 hours to complete the drawing...to my amazement, i did it!! Managed to upgrade my talent...so, time passed by and i started to draw for fun and try to improve my lines...there are moments that i stopped drawing as i have no interesting subjects and quite busy with some errands..the progress is very..very slow...

Until the year 2008, i felt that i should use my talent for good, and should be proud of it. thus, i started to draw again...but still, i made only few drawings...but i still want to show the world!

So...look at my 1st ever drawing which i did when i was 15..of course its Vanilla Ice!!...give your comments...i'll be updating with my previous works later on..thank you..
